{"id":12720,"date":"2023-04-13T14:22:42","date_gmt":"2023-04-13T14:22:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.webdesign-inspiration.com\/blog?p=12720"},"modified":"2023-04-13T14:22:44","modified_gmt":"2023-04-13T14:22:44","slug":"metas-new-image-ai-removes-any-object-with-a-single-click","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.webdesign-inspiration.com\/blog\/metas-new-image-ai-removes-any-object-with-a-single-click","title":{"rendered":"Meta&#8217;s New Image AI Removes Any Object with A Single Click"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Image credit: segment-anything.com<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Meta recently unveiled a demo of its new artificial intelligence model capable of cutting out any object in an image with just a single click.<\/p>\n<p>Called the <a href=\"https:\/\/segment-anything.com\/\">Segment Anything Model<\/a> (SAM), the AI is a promptable segmentation system that understands \u201czero-shot generalization\u201d to unfamiliar images and objects.<\/p>\n<p>This means it doesn\u2019t need additional training to get a general idea of what objects are, allowing it to auto select and erase objects with your click \u00a0or highlight prompt.<\/p>\n<p>With SAM, image editing is as simple as clicking or drawing a box over an object to highlight it, then clicking to erase the object. Since the objects are separately identified, you can remove an object or several objects at once.<\/p>\n<p>SAM is distinguished for its flexible and efficient segmentation capability. Similar AI models usually require individual prompts or guidance for each step in the object removal process.<\/p>\n<p>The advanced capabilities of SAM were the product of its training on a data set that included over 1.1 billion segmentation masks gathered from around 11 million licensed as well as privacy preserving images.<\/p>\n<p>Meta sees SAM\u2019s capabilities to be ideal for use in professions or fields that require quick image editing.
