Adobe’s latest update of Photoshop equips it with new and improved features including collaboration tools, smarter selections, and photo restoration. This puts more “intelligence” in an already smart and robust image editing software.

A new collaboration feature called “Share for Review” lets users share with others their projects from within the application. By simply sending a web link to the work, colleagues and clients can review and provide feedback even if they don’t have a Creative Cloud subscription. In other words, no sign-in or sign-up is needed for collaborators.

It’s as simple as creating a snapshot of your document and then inviting reviewers to comment on it in a panel within Photoshop. You can see and address reviewers in real-time and update your documents as needed. Collaborators will see the updated file every time it is reopened or refreshed.

Adobe reasoned that millions of the software’s users share Photoshop files for input and review by stakeholders every day. In this release, the Share for Review feature (still in the beta stage) makes adding feedback and reviews to your designs much quicker and easier without leaving the platform.

Another improvement is in the Object Selection tool which enables users to auto-detect and select objects in an image simply by hovering over it. The automatic selections have improved quality and fidelity while the types of objects the app can automatically recognize have been expanded.

The tool can now recognize more complex objects and regions like buildings, water, plants, and sky and even different floorings and ground such as mountains and streets. With the enhancements on the tool, it will save you time to get high-quality and more precise selections while preserving details and edges.

In addition, a one-click Delete and Fill will let you quickly remove unwanted elements in your image with the removed area automatically replaced using content-aware fill – all done with a single action. This nifty feature combines the intelligence of the Sensei (Adobe’s AI)-powered Object Selection tool, the magic of Content-Aware Fill, and the ease of the Shift+Delete shortcut.

Machine learning is likewise leveraged for the new and improved Neural Filters that can make complex editing and transform an image in a matter of seconds. Through the Photo Restoration Neural Filter, you can now restore damaged or old photos like new ones. The filter utilizes machine learning to find and eliminate scratches, blemishes, and other minor imperfections in old photos and convert them into fresh images.
