Why Are Online Games So Popular?

Computer games have long been a part of the life of most modern people. Both schoolchildren and adults spend every day in games on Game Karma from a few minutes during a break at school or work all the way to many hours of sessions on days free from other activities. What is the success of computer games? Is it even worth starting to play them if you are only thinking about immersing yourself in the virtual world? How harmful (or, conversely, useful) is it for you?

We will not bore you with a detailed analysis of this issue from a medical point of view unless we touch on it very superficially. About the fact that a long uninterrupted pastime behind the monitor screen has a detrimental effect on vision, you know, but there is already enough information on the network about the psychological component of this topic. In turn, we will consider the main pros of single and multiplayer games from the side from which the most ordinary player sees them.

Explore new worlds in online games

We think that many of you would like to find yourself in the worlds of your favorite books or films. In addition, someone would even like to see how people lived, for example, in the Middle Ages or even earlier. The technologies of today do not allow us to invent a time machine or create an alternative universe where everything would be the way we would like.

This is where computer games come to the rescue with their realistic graphics and popular alternative worlds recreated to the smallest detail:

  • Take, for example, the same The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. How else could you find yourself in the role of a legendary monster hunter from Slavic mythology, familiar to many of us from childhood, if not for this game?
  • Alternatively, you can try yourself as one of the soldiers in large-scale battles on a huge map and with a bunch of vehicles in the games of the Battlefield and Call of Duty series, which affect completely different periods.
  • On the other hand, set off on an adventure in A Plague Tale: Innocence, set in medieval France, as a young girl you have to make your way through plague-infested territories and avoid the Inquisition to save your little brother.

These and similar games provide fascinating original worlds, excellent graphics, thoughtful plots, and the ability to take a direct part in what is happening in them.

All this suggests that computer games can be interesting in terms of meeting and discovering something completely new for yourself that you would never, under any circumstances, be able to see in the real world.

If you approach games with common sense, do not put them at the forefront of everything, do not forget about your primary tasks in life, and pay due attention to your health, then not a single computer game will bring serious problems. Moreover, in some cases, it can even become a lifeline that will allow you to escape from the constant fuss, especially in our difficult times.
