The company's first product, Clarity for Schools, is currently in over 2300 schools. It is a SaaS platform focused exclusively on the role of technology in student learning. Educational technology represents a subset of learning analytics as a whole and will be the primary focus area for BrightBytes through 2013.

Job Description

We're Looking for:

• An accomplished engineer with serious frontend development chops, who has demonstrable experience with JavaScript, AJAX, CSS2/3, and HTML4/5
• Someone who understands the full web stack and is adept at writing high performance JavaScript applications, accustomed to working with Git, Pivotal (or similar tracker), and related tools in a Scrum environment
• A startup savvy individual who is excited about building market-changing applications in Big Data, Social Networks, and Gaming, and shares our passion for clean and simple design that's modern and approachable
• An owner of end-to-end interface development, a strong contributor to UX design and application functionality, and someone familiar with charting libraries or experience creating custom charting widgets
• Someone who can illustrate feature descriptions with wireframes, mockups, flow diagrams or even functional prototypes, if necessary

• 5+ years of professional experience using JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, and HTML4/5
• 5+ years of experience with web-based software development
• 2+ years of experience or familiarity working with a web application framework like Rails or Django
• Full stack comprehension; someone who can build beautiful interfaces while understanding how the application connects to the rest of the code base
• Someone who ensures code quality through test-driven development
• Current in the latest web development trends
• Experience with responsive web design and development a plus
